Minnesota Milk held its annual Ice Cream Day at the Capitol event in St. Paul on May 6. Board members shared ice cream and engaged in conversations with legislators from across the state, including Minnesota Commissioner of Agriculture Thom Petersen, as well as their legislative staff. Conversations focused on the issues, opportunities and priorities impacting dairy farmers and rural communities.
It was an excellent opportunity for legislators to hear directly from farmers who shared their passion for dairy and its significance in Minnesota, along with their personal experiences on their farms. The event was held inside the Capitol’s Vault room, directly below the rotunda.
Events like this are an important reminder that dairy farmers’ voices matter in policy conversations shaping the industry.
